Duplin at a glance

Duplin County is the 9th largest county in the state in land area, 819 square miles, and has 10 incorporated towns: Calypso, Faison, Warsaw, Kenansville, Magnolia, Rose Hill, Teachey, Wallace, Greenevers, and Beulaville. The county is served by Interstate 40, U.S. Highway 117, NC Highways 11, 24, 50, 403, and 903. Rail service is available through CSX Rail service and the Duplin County Airport provides a 6,001-foot paved, lighted runway. The population as of the 2021 census was 48,515.  

Duplin County has a strong agricultural industry and plays an important role in raising animals for food. Duplin is also home to Duplin Winery, the oldest winery in North Carolina and the largest winery in the Southeast. 

Duplin County Schools is a public school district consisting of 16 locations, with approximately 9,969 students in grades PK, K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 17 to 1. 

Duplin County is home to two exciting golf courses. Duplin Country Club is a beautiful 18-hole par 72 golf course with champion Bermuda greens. River Landing is a planned residential community tucked away in eastern North Carolina, off I-40, complete with two 18-hole championship golf courses.
